3 Tools To Use To Detangle Your Natural Hair On Wash Days

Tailored Beauty Coconut Creme Shampoo

Wash day can be a daunting task for naturals, especially when it comes to detangling. As your hair becomes longer, thicker, curlier and even more healthier you can avoid the process all together. Additionally, detangling your hair can become the bane of your existence. However, with the right tools, detangling your hair can be a breeze. Here are three tools to use to detangle your natural hair on wash days:

Wide-tooth comb:
A wide-tooth comb is THE staple tool for anyone with natural hair. It's a great detangler as the teeth are firm but can easily glide through your curls. This doesn't cause damage  by tearing your hair from the roots.  Similar to any detangling tool, it is best to use on damp hair.

How To Use:
1) Wet or damp your hair a conditioning/moisturizing Tailored Beauty product
2) Section your hair in 4 to 6 sections
3) Start at the ends of your hair and work your way up
4) Detangle each section from the tips to the roots
4) using the comb to gently detangle any knots or tangles.

Denman brush:
The Denman brush is a popular detangling tool. The bristles are soft and is evenly spaced it. This makes it flexible so it will glide among the hair strands. The teeth are able to separate the curls to remove knots as well as clump the coils together. This is perfect as it is easy to detangle without causing breakage.

How To Use:
1) Wet or damp your hair a conditioning/moisturizing product (see below)
2) Section your hair in 4 to 6 sections
3) Detangle each section from the tips to the roots
4) Ensure that you are brushing the hair at angle to remove the tangles
As well as, it clumps the curls together to create beautiful ringlets.

Finger detangling:
Sometimes, the best tool for detangling your hair is your own fingers. Finger detangling allows you to feel for knots and tangles and gently work them out. Start at the ends of your hair and work your way up, using your fingers to gently separate any knots. This method is particularly effective for those with tightly coiled or kinky hair.

How To Use:
1) Wet or damp your hair a conditioning/moisturizing product (see below)
2) Section your hair in 4 to 6 sections
3) Detangle each section from the tips to the roots using the pads of your fingers
4) Once you feel a tangle, try to remove it by separating the section.

Recommended products to use when detangling:
On wash days it is best to apply moisturizing or conditioning products before detangling your hair. These products will penetrate the hair shaft and absorb into it. This makes your kinks soft, supple and malleable so it's easier to detangle using any of the tools above. You should be detangling after applying Tailored Beauty Coconut Creme Shampoo. It is Infused with coconut oil which cleanses and strengthens hair without leaving it feeling stripped. Formulated with aloe vera juice that moisturizes and restores hair's natural pH. Our coconut crème shampoo is derived from natural sources and never contains parabens or sulfates.

No matter which detangling tool you choose, it's important to be patient and gentle when detangling your natural hair. Rushing the process or being too rough can lead to severe breakage and damage. By using these three tools, you can detangle your natural hair on wash days with ease and maintain healthy, beautiful curls.
